New York City’s famed, authentic Greek restaurant Avra Madison Estiatorio has opened it’s first west coast outpost in Beverly Hills. It has taken over the old Hakkasan space on Beverly Drive and the restaurant is stunning. There is a beautifully designed bar where you can also eat dinner. The menu is heavy on fresh caught fish , which you can choose while looking at the selection of fish right before your eyes . The chef will de-bone and grill on charcoal, delicious! Of course all the Greek staples are on the menu as well, don’t miss the zucchini chips. If you are a sardine fan, which no one is except for me, they have the freshest portuguese sardines I have tried on the West Coast. The live langoustines are also not to be missed, simply grilled with salt and pepper. The service is divine, all the servers have been trained by the New York staff so expect to be spoiled. They will soon be opened for lunch as well and request to sit on the lovely patio for a dose of people watching with your hummus and tzatziki. Don’t forget your wallet, all this deliciousness is pricey.
